Twenty-two people were rescued during a boat fire near City Island Saturday night, according to the chief of staff for Council Member Kristy Marmorato's Office.
The NYPD confirmed that a boat was on fire some time after 8 p.m. and rescue efforts got underway.

Multiple EMS crews were on City Island Avenue near Fordham Street, according to Bronx Marine Emergency.
The chief of staff for Council Member Marmorato's Office said there were no casualties and everyone rescued seemed to be OK as of Saturday night.
The bridge was closed on City Island. According to a captain on the scene, first responders were trying to get ambulances in and out of the island.
People who live on the island had to show identification in order to get in as responding crews were making sure those who were rescued got to the hospital for evaluations.
According to police sources, a man was taken into custody.
It was not immediately clear if the boat caught fire or if it exploded.
