The New York City Department of Transportation is warning drivers about a parking payment scam.
It says scammers have posted at least one QR code on a parking meter that directs users to a third-party website asking for payment information.

The New York City DOT says it is now inspecting all meters throughout the city and sent in-app warnings to users.
News 12 spoke with drivers, like Godfrey Deflorimonde, who says it's a scam people can easily fall for.
"You have to be very careful and pay more attention. You may come out of the car and be in a rush and not be aware and easily get caught up in it," said Deflorimonde.
The New York City DOT reminds drivers the only way to pay is through the ParkNYC app or with a credit card.
It asks anyone who sees more of these QR codes to report them to ParkNYC.
